I decided to give 3d printing a whirl, couldn't justify the cost of the makerbot for a pet project so I picked up the printrbot (http://tinyurl.com/nx6uht9) and after a lil testing to get the best settings on the printer I am able to export from MODO to STL and print at will.. great stuff and lots of fun.
