A recent project designing labelling a range of natural pet nutrition products. Modelling was done in Modo and rendered with V-Ray (trial). Textures were created using a combination of photography, scans, procedurals and handcrafting with additional replicators for particles. For instance the appearance of each product in a clear container is very different to sitting in a pile. To capture this I put each product into a plastic bag and scanned it on a flatbed scanner, while the pile texture was captured by pouring the contents onto a plate and photographing from above. The pile is a simple mesh with some jitter, various displacement layers and replicators. The project was originally rendered using Modo's native renderer but I am reworking with V-Ray to check out the trial.
