Project info
A small personal project where I have modelled everything in Modo with the regular toolset, textured with a combination of Substance and custom materials, then rendered in V-ray. Fabrics needed some extra work to make them more convincing, including custom maps and falloffs for sheen and Modo fur with V-ray hair for some fibre fuzz. Lighting uses an HDRI with additional image based Slik 2 area lights to pull out better definition. I've only recently started to use Slik 2 and seems such a shame development was dropped. Although less realistic, the background is deliberately simple to really highlight the chair. I did consider a few other presentations which although more realistic but settled on this for now.
