Once again we were able to leverage Marvelous Designer to create base simulations with stitching and seam details being added in Modo. Manufacturing patterns were stitched and simulated in Marvelous, then retopologised in the simplest possible quads. Both the high density simulation and simple flattened retopo were exported back to Modo where additional subdivisions were added to the quad geometry and mapped to the high density mesh using Modo's handy UV transform and merge meshes operations. Seams and stitching were added with a customised fabric texture from Substance Source. Rendering was done with Vray Next in Modo. This workflow was used to create a full range of covers for chairs, lounges and full outdoor suites.
