A post box in the snow, made in modo 501. All modo, only watermark added in PS.
Pixar SubDs (new in 501) really helped with modeling the pillar box, and multi-resolution sculpting gave me a lot of control over the shape of the snow. The new occlusion layer really helped with adding grime and wear to the box, and the new bump technology helped to make the embossed royal insignia much more believable.
Render was noticeably quicker in 501, with this render taking only 48 mins on my 2-core, 2GB Ram laptop. That's including subtle DOF, Blurry reflections on the snow, fur strips for the hedge and modo's physical sun and sky model! Now that's good.
